Run/walk: 30 minutes
So, this was my first 30 minute run, at 3 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking. It went pretty well—I was starting to get fairly winded by the end, but not so much that I couldn't have gone on if I'd really tried, and that's only to be expected on the first day of increasing my workout time by 1/3, after only one week of being back at it. The post-run ab work and stretching is starting to feel more natural now.
Yesterday, I told my mom about my plans to do another AIDS Marathon, and she was all for it. I don't know why I expected her not to be, but somehow I had it in my head that she might be skeptical of my ability to start training for a marathon now, after being completely potato-like for so long. Probably projecting my own doubts onto her. She also thought that joining the group in LA for weekly runs was a good idea, despite the two-hour drive to get there. Anyway, it's good to have her in my corner.
So far, so good.
