Week 8: Twelve Miles

So, I'm in San Francisco for the weekend for a con, and decided to take the opportunity to go and run with a group in my old city, and it was so great! The Rosa Mota group is fairly large here, plus there were several other additions (besides me), so we ended up with a group of eight people. I talked most of the time to a woman who's ordinarily with the 13 minute pace group, I think, but who was running with a slower group today because she had a cold. It was great having someone to chat with the whole way. Really makes the run easier.

We did the loop around Lake Merced, up and down Sunset from the Park. I think our group went out a little too fast -- and my running pal and I ended up trailing behind for much of the way -- but we never quite got left behind, and they did try to slow down to stay on pace. I was kind of sore and tired for the last few miles, but the run was not bad on the whole. I'd been a little worried, after how hard the 10-mile run was, but I guess it was the difficulty of the route I'd taken that slowed me down so much, because 12 miles was no problem. Whew.

So now I'm back at the hotel, and feeling fine. Yay twelve miles! Nearly halfway there.
