2 miles, 1:2 minute run/walk ratio, 33:19 minutes
I got up early this morning, started my run by 7:45, and zoomed! I pushed it a bit, but still felt good—in fact, I was a bit surprised to turn the corner and see my driveway coming up. I think I cut about a minute off my usual time for this run.
I think the hill-climbing and hill training has really helped me pick up my pace this time. Also, the 1:2 minute run/walk ratio is working really well for me. I begin to feel that a 3.5 hour half-marathon is within reach!
I got an email from the Long Beach Marathon this morning with a link to this site: WearYourNumber.com. What a great idea! I want to order a shirt, but I can't decide which one. I worry about a women's short-sleeve shirt being too tight on my left arm. On the other hand, it's supposed to be cooler in Long Beach in October, so a sleeveless shirt might be a bit cool. On the other, other hand.... Well, I'll think about it for a bit. They'll be making/selling the shirts right there at the Expo, so there's no hurry.
